One team, one process, wherever you're based
We’re an independent kitchen and bedroom company, not tied to a single manufacturer or a fixed catalogue. Wherever your project is in our catchment, it starts the same way: a conversation at our Ongar showroom or over the phone, a free home visit to measure the room and talk through how you actually live in it, and a full 3D design before anything is ordered. Installation is carried out by our own fitting teams — never a subcontractor we haven’t met.
Essex is home ground, and it’s where most of our projects happen — but we also travel into North East London, and beyond it for the right project. Below is where we work most often, and how each area fits into that.
Essex
Ongar — our home & showroom
Our showroom is on Ongar High Street, holding full-size door samples, complete worktop slabs and working AEG appliances. Browsing is free, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 10am–3pm.
Chelmsford
Essex’s county town and the largest catchment outside Ongar itself — new-build apartments, Victorian terraces and everything between, with the same home-visit and showroom process as anywhere else in the county.
Brentwood
A regular catchment for us, from period cottages to the newer developments along the A12 corridor. See the full local detail on our dedicated Brentwood page.
Epping
Close enough to Ongar for a same-day home visit, with plenty of period and character properties in and around the forest where a well-planned layout makes the most of an awkward room.
Chigwell
A mix of substantial detached homes and newer developments, where projects often lean toward our Aylesford and Versa ranges for a bolder, more contemporary finish.
Loughton
On the Central line at the edge of Epping Forest, with a good mix of period conversions and larger family homes — both need very different approaches to layout.
Buckhurst Hill
One of the more affluent pockets of our Essex catchment, where a lot of our work comes through recommendation rather than a search — a good sign of how the finished kitchens hold up.
North East London
Woodford
Sitting right on the Essex/East London boundary, Woodford is a natural extension of the Wanstead and Walthamstow work we already do nearby.
Wanstead

Further afield
Chelsea
Chelsea is further from our Ongar base than most of the areas we cover, but distance alone doesn’t rule out a project — it usually means a client has seen our work and wants the same independent, no-catalogue-constraints approach. Get in touch and we’ll talk through the logistics honestly.
Richmond
As with Chelsea, Richmond sits outside our usual daily catchment. If you want a kitchen built around how you actually live rather than off a showroom floor plan, call us and we’ll tell you plainly what’s realistic for your timeline and budget.

We measure properly, ask how you actually use the room, and present a full 3D layout in the showroom before anything is ordered.

Installation is carried out by Kitchens by Guy’s own fitters — never a subcontractor — working from the exact design you approved.

Which areas does Kitchens by Guy cover?
We design, supply and fit kitchens and bedrooms across Essex — including Ongar, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Epping, Chigwell, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill — and into North East London, covering Woodford, Wanstead and Walthamstow. We also take on projects further afield, including Chelsea and Richmond, where the project is right.
Do you charge more for projects outside Ongar?
No — pricing is based on the kitchen or bedroom itself, not your postcode. For areas further from our showroom, we’ll simply talk through visit logistics upfront so there are no surprises.
My area isn't listed — can you still help?
Possibly. Call 01277 281 414 with your location and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a fit. We do travel further for the right project.
Do I need to visit the showroom before booking a home visit?
