One team, one process, wherever you're based
We’re an independent kitchen and bedroom company, not tied to a single manufacturer or a fixed catalogue. Wherever your project is in our catchment, it starts the same way: a conversation at our Ongar showroom or over the phone, a free home visit to measure the room and talk through how you actually live in it, and a full 3D design before anything is ordered. Installation is carried out by our own fitting teams — never a subcontractor we haven’t met.
Essex is home ground, and it’s where most of our projects happen — but we also travel into North East London, and beyond it for the right project. Below is where we work most often, and how each area fits into that.
Essex
Ongar — our home & showroom
Our showroom is on Ongar High Street, holding full-size door samples, complete worktop slabs and working AEG appliances. Browsing is free, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 10am–3pm.
Chelmsford
Much of our Chelmsford work is replacing developer-fitted kitchens in newer homes with one built around how the household actually cooks, alongside full refits in the city’s older terraces where every wall needs measuring properly.
Brentwood
Brentwood kitchens range from period cottage refits, where walls are rarely square, to open-plan kitchen-diners in the newer homes along the A12. Both get the same free home measure and 3D design before anything is ordered.
Epping
Epping’s period and character homes often suit our traditional Winslow range, though awkward rooms need careful planning whatever the style. We’re close enough for a same-day home measure and a showroom visit in the same week.
Chigwell
Chigwell kitchens tend to be large, open-plan and island-led, so the focus is proportion and storage rather than squeezing units in. Our Aylesford and Versa ranges are popular here for a bolder, contemporary finish.
Loughton
Many Loughton projects open a small rear kitchen in a 1930s semi into a proper kitchen-diner, while the larger family homes nearer the forest call for full-height storage and a well-planned island.
Buckhurst Hill
Buckhurst Hill’s Victorian and Edwardian villas bring high ceilings and chimney breasts that a standard kitchen layout never accounts for. Much of our work here comes by recommendation, which says a lot about how the kitchens hold up.
North East London
Woodford
Woodford kitchens are often in narrow Victorian terraces, where the side return decides the whole design: bring it into the kitchen, or keep the footprint and gain storage with full-height units instead.
Wanstead
Wanstead’s terraced and Victorian homes usually mean a galley or side-return kitchen, and we design around the room you have rather than forcing a standard layout. Full local detail is on our Wanstead kitchens page.
Walthamstow
Many of our Walthamstow kitchens go into Victorian terraces, where making a narrow room feel generous is the real challenge. Handleless ranges such as Zola work well here for clean, uncluttered lines.
Further afield
Chelsea
Chelsea sits outside our usual catchment, but we take on kitchens there when a client wants an independent designer rather than a single-brand studio. Get in touch and we’ll be straight about logistics and timings.
Richmond
As with Chelsea, Richmond is further than our daily area. If you want a kitchen designed around how you live rather than a showroom floor plan, call us and we’ll tell you honestly what’s realistic.

Which areas does Kitchens by Guy cover?
We design, supply and fit kitchens and bedrooms across Essex — including Ongar, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Epping, Chigwell, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill — and into North East London, covering Woodford, Wanstead and Walthamstow. We also take on projects further afield, including Chelsea and Richmond, where the project is right.
Do you charge more for projects outside Ongar?
No — pricing is based on the kitchen or bedroom itself, not your postcode. For areas further from our showroom, we’ll simply talk through visit logistics upfront so there are no surprises.
My area isn't listed — can you still help?
